September is Workforce Development Month; Loudoun Holds Job Seeker Workshops for Sterling Residents

Sterling Residents Seeking Jobs get big boost this month.

September is Workforce Development Month! Revitalize your job search and take control of your employment situation. Whether you are looking for work, changing careers or wanting to brush up on techniques for success at your current job, the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center has workshops to fit your need. All workshops are offered at no cost; however, registration is required.

To register, call the center at 703-777-0150 or stop by in person at 102 Heritage Way N.E., Leesburg (1st floor, rear entrance).

Workshops offered throughout the month include:

" Navigating LinkedIn for New Users: September 9, 2014, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

" SCAR-Q, Discover Your Competencies: September 12, 2014, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

" Controlling My Time: September 16, 2014, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

" Federal Job Results: September 23, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

" Strategize Your Job Search: September 23, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

" Resume 101: September 11, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and September 25, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

New workshops featured in September:

" Managing Income and Expenses: September 15, 2014 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

" Coping With Unemployment: September 30, 2014 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

To close out the month, the Workforce Resource Center will host a Seasonal Hiring Job Fair on Friday, September 26, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Rust Library, 380 Old Waterford Road, NW, Leesburg VA 20176.
