STERLING WRITER'S NOVEL DEBUTS--Linda Budzinski's The Funeral Singer

(September 23 2013 - Sterling, VA) -- What happens when an everyday teen-age girl's video goes viral on YouTube, bringing her millions of fans and followers?

That's the question explored in a new young adult romance novel by Sterling resident Linda Budzinski.

"We live in a world today where people can become instant stars, instant heroes," Budzinski said. "And just as quickly, with one wrong move in the public eye, they can become 'failures.' The recent controversies surrounding Miley Cyrus' performance at the Video Music Awards are a good example. She went from Disney darling to public pariah. But who is she really? Do we know? And more important, does she?"

Budzinski lives and works in Sterling, Virginia. She has served for 25 years in non-profit communications and marketing, including 18 years at an association in the funeral service industry. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is active in several local and regional writing groups, and for the past eight years has served as an adviser for the Sterling United Methodist Church youth group.
