CHILD PREDATOR ALERT

February 24, 2005

This is an alert for child predators attempting to abduct a child. While
it is in Ashburn in yesterday's report, be on the look out in Sterling
today. With the snow it is easy to have a fun day and forget about this,
but it is even more important than ever.

Please forward this on to as many people as possible and call everyone
in your neighborhood who has children to make sure they look for this
"white work truck pick up, with lettering on the side" (see below).

If I get more information, I will inform you. (i.e. specific make and
model, plate number, etc.)

** The vehicle in the incident is described as a White Work Truck
Pick-Up**

Sheriff's Office Investigates Report of Weapons Wielded on Child

An 8-year-old Ashburn boy told Sheriff's Deputies Tuesday night he was
approached by two suspects both of whom brandished weapons.

The child says he was outside a residence in the 20400 block of Baseline
Terrace in Ashburn when two Hispanic males approached him and asked if
he wanted candy. The child replied "no" and at that time one of the
suspect brandished a firearm. The second suspect was said to have
brandished a knife.

The child ran into his residence and the two suspects were observed
driving away in a white pick-up with lettering on the side.

One of the suspects was described as being in his 20's, 5'9" in
height and weighing 170 pounds. The second suspect was described as
being in his 30's, 6' in height and weighing 230 pounds.

The incident was said to have occurred shortly after 4:30 PM. Deputies
were called to the scene shortly after 5 PM.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact
Investigator A. Harper of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Criminal
Investigations Division at 703-777-0475.
