Snow, Traffic Update-- Its worse. Tie Ups Everywhere for hours, Delgaudio Warns

Power outages in the area so keep that in mind. (find the flashlight, save your work on the computer, etc.)

Sterling Park has had some power outages for brief periods.

Snow is heavier than predicted.

There are still thousands on the roadways due to back ups, accidents and stalled vehicles.


Update on Road Conditions in Loudoun


Route 7 westbound at Leesburg Mountain (just west of Leesburg Town Limits) remains closed. Emergency personnel remain at the scene and are attempting to clear disabled vehicles from the roadway.
Numerous roadways (primary and secondary) throughout the county remain treacherous. Motorists can continue to expect major delays and are advised to stay home until conditions improve.

Schools Closed


Loudoun County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, January 27th due to inclement weather.


Sheriff Agrees With Me-- STAY HOME


Traffic conditions remain hazardous.

Please avoid driving and other travel until conditions have improved. Residents are encouraged to stay home and off the roads so that the snow removal crews can clear roadways.

Homeowner Snow Removal Ideas

Delegate Tom Rust suggests:

* When shoveling your driveway, shovel to the right as you face the road so that plows do not push the snow back into your driveway.

(VDOT) suggested, when possible, to either wait until the plow has passed or to not clear the last 5 feet of your driveway until the stret is plowed to prevent residents from having to shovel again.

* Clear snow from around mailboxes and fire hydrants.
