The national weather service has issued flood warnings for rivers and streams in this entire area. We need the rain, but please be careful.

STERLING IN THE NEWS ABOUT PLEDGE TO AMERICA

Last Thursday, a large welcome from Sterling residents was given to the proposal to reduce spending and reduce taxes at the federal level which was announced in Sterling, Virginia at the Tart Lumber wharehouse. Newsweek, Time magazine and several national news shows reported favorably on Sterling. So congratulations to Tart Lumber, the Republicans for picking Sterling and the neighbors and friends who helped make Sterling shine to the USA.

JOHN BOEHNER the minority leader came over and we presented him with the "Silver Tea Kettle" to stand firm for our values and to reduce taxes and spending-- not to back down. Leader Boehner accepted the award and said he will bring it with him all across the country.

HISTORIC: Upcoming 2 Nights Public Input October 12 and 13 at 7 p.m.
More Access To Claude Moore Park from Sterling Park

Its not posted on the home page of the Loudoun County website or in any news releases yet.

But I have been told letters are going out inviting the public (that's you) to comment on proposed pedestrian paths INTO Claude Moore Park from the residential areas of Sterling Park, throughout the park and to facilitate walkers on all sides.

At last we have a plan to give access to Sterling Park to this Park that borders our neighborhoods.

The "public input" will explain the paths and the scope of the current recommendations which include 2 new paths from established Sterling neighborhoods which have had little but dirt footpaths prevously into the park. We will now be connected with a bike and pedestrian path to the park.

Option A -Construction of a multi-use trail along the access road from W. Juniper Avenue to the Football Field Parking Lot.

Option B -Installation of a signaled crosswalk at the intersection of Church Road and Aspen Avenue N.

There will be two separate meetings at 7 p.m. on Tuesday October 12th and Wednesday October 13th at the Claude Moore Recreation Center to discuss these plans.

Ches Bay Hearing 100 Protests What's next?

The Ches. Bay Ordinance is a tremendous inferno of over-regulation, fees, taxes and outright interference in our lives and control of our properties.

After 100 other speakers, most of them condemning it spoke, the county has continued to push the Ches. Bay Act. The board voted five yes to send it to the Land Use Committee with a deadline of returning it back to the board for action at "year's end".

The bill is a fraud as staff members admitted after a majority of citizens condemned it in testimony last Tuesday afternoon. They admitted that the Ches. Bay Act as written and proposed would not help the Bay and was being used to regulate "stream quality." (The Ches.Bay Act was enacted for THE BAY)

It seems a board majority embraces this open fraud and unfair process. Until we reverse that, we must continue to fight it.

WOLF AGAIN URGES OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO CREATE STUDY GROUP

Rep. Frank Wolf (VA-10) today called for the third time on the Obama administration to create an Afghanistan-Pakistan Study Group (APSG), modeled after the Iraq Study Group, to bring "fresh eyes" to the war effort in Afghanistan. Wolf first asked the president to create an APSG on August 4 and again on August 19.

Wolf cited author Bob Woodward's new revelations regarding the infusion of political calculations into the formation of the Obama administration's Afghanistan strategy as evidence of a flawed process on a paramount matter of national security.
