Fireworks Tonight

July 3, 2008

I know you are all busy. The county administrator announced CUTTING CREWS TO BEGIN WORK. This was announced 9 a.m. Tuesday morning July 1 and county grass cutting crews have visited Sterling today and yesterday to plan their "attack". Crews are going out Monday to actually cut grass. May God Bless them.

Most of the complaints -- 100s of them-- have been acted on by volunteers cutting the grass, neighbors or the owners or renters themselves. Thank you to those of you who cut the grass.

Regarding trash, expired cars and 18 wheeler trucks and large box trucks, MOST of those have been cleaned up or moved or corrected.

There is a large improvement in the general appearance of Sterling Park due to this collective movement of forces, outreach and publicity. Thank you to all the many people who are working on this in the government, neighborhoods, news media and private companies and businesses.

There is still much to do. I am tracking the ten or one dozen high grass houses that remain in Sterling. It is the other Supervisors jobs to track the high grass homes in their respective districts. And new reports and new problems are being worked on as they happen.

MUCH MORE LATER.

( Note: THERE are a lot of news reports, blogs, good people, Heros and Local Stars to quote and thank and reports on Overcrowding, outlaw Street Beggers walking on Route 7 in front of your car, Cars parked on Front lawns, illegal alien crimes, Suspending Pepes Alcohol permit, dozens of large Goodwill bins being dumped all over Eastern Loudoun willy nilly, restoring online complaints to our county government and much more. I will get back to you later on all of this-- E.D.)

(From the Fire Marshall) Locally, use of illegal fireworks is a violation of the Loudoun County Fire Prevention Code, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor, meaning a person could receive jail time of up to 1 year and a fine of up to $2,500.00. (Marshall) Brower does advise that he is able to waive criminal charges for anyone who voluntarily contacts his office in advance to turn in illegal fireworks they may have unknowingly purchased.
