Come Friday To Santinis

October 11, 2007

Thank you for saying hello to me during the parade or Sterlingfest this past Saturday. It was a grand affair and the Knights of Columbus did a wonderful job in carrying out a long tradition. A slight drizzle of rain came down just as the parade kicked off but was very light.

>>> HUNDREDS WEAR ORANGE

Thank you to the many citizens and young people-- over 1,000-- who wore the orange "I support Eugene Delgaudio" sticker. I am honored and it was a great show of support.

>>>>TAKE VIRGINIA BACK FROM THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS
Friday October 12, 2007

Please come and bring at least 20 dollars Friday, October 12 at the next Delgaudio fundraising event at SANTINI's New York Style Deli from 6 to 8 p.m. Thank you. Make your biggest donation ever. The Washington Post will be outraged. Thank you again.

The liberals in the news media are pouring on the attacks. This represents millions of dollars in unreported assistance to my opponent. And the Washington, DC Post is driving activists from all over the region to oppose me. I can not match the millions being spent against me. I just need to get my winning message out. I only need $50,000 more to fund my budget to win. I have planned victory with your help 2 times before. This is the 3rd time and we can beat the Middleburg financed Scott York-dominated media machine.

There will be several special presentations and ceremonies from regional and national organizations.

What: Delgaudio Take Back Virginia Party with pizza, soda and salad
Who: You and 100 others

Where: Santini's Deli, Clocktower, Route 7 next to Burlington Coat Factory

When: Friday, October 12, 6 to 8 p.m.

>>>> WITH YOUR HELP DENSITY PACKING TOWN CENTERS WILL BE STOPPED.

I first wrote you months ago about density packers who want to bulldoze Sterling and build Reston-style Town Centers in place of our single family houses.

This coming Tuesday, Oct. 16th, the Board of Supervisors will be taking a final vote on the Delgaudio-Staton Comprehensive Plan Amendment to remove plans to redevelop Eastern Loudoun County into high density Town Centers and to limit the way the County uses eminent domain.

Middleburg's champion Scott York has attacked a private citizen for a letter that appeared in an HOA newsletter and claims there is no need to amend the plan to take out 4 regional town centers in Eastern Loudoun.

Letters to the editor were written claiming that this would never happen. Yet every week the Board of Supervisors hears reports and opinions from business leaders, the Housing Advisory Board, and even the editorial page of the Leesburg Today who think redeveloping Eastern Loudoun County would be a good way to spur 'economic development' and to promote 'affordable housing.'

If you want the board of supervisors to remove language to build four new regional town centers in Eastern Loudoun, consider writing today to all nine supervisors at [email protected]. Thank you.

>>> WINCHESTER WALL GETTING NEW COAT OF PAINT

The wall by Leesburg Pike and Sterling Blvd. is getting a new coat of brown paint. The color of one portion of of the wall is "pink" because it is the primer. One portion is brown. The final color is going to be brown. Part of wall was painted and I am hoping that the paint will be completed this week. VDOT asks "please be patient until the work is finished."

>>> ALL THOSE NEW RAMPS AND CURBS

Over the last year and in recent days, Sterling Park has witnessed the installation of hundreds of new ramps, replacement of worn sidewalks and portions of curbs. I have reviewed some of these projects and they do require some additional work when crews miss a spot or leave gaps between the curb and grass. This a massive effort that started with my encouragement of a maintainence scheduling for Sterling Park as a member of the Board of Supervisors. This has caused some disruption but also obvious improvements. So now if you have a wheel chair, baby carrieage, bike, skateboard, or skates you can quickly get on the sidewalks throughout Sterling for the first time in 40 years.

>>> RURITANS LAST YARD SALE

Don't forget the Ruritans have their "last" yard sale Saturday. Contrary to what I reported earlier, they no longer have a chow wagon for selling food.
