DELGAUDIO GOP NOMINEE

January 15, 2007

>>> DELGAUDIO YOUR REPUBLICAN NOMINEE FOR SUPERVISOR

It is now official. Thanks to the strong support each of you have given me over and over again, I have secured the uncontested Republican nomination for Sterling Supervisor.
Repeating: your help made my securing the Republican nomination possible. Thank you.

You helped me by coming forward again and again with assistance, emails, public support and donations. Going right into the last day of the year 2006, donations poured in making the Re-elect Delgaudio for Supervisor campaign the number one funded Supervisor Campaign in Loudoun County.

There were HUNDREDS of donations in small and large amounts all over Sterling on every street.

Thanks to you and many supporters like you in Sterling, it was clear that the Republican Party was united in a big way behind me. I am grateful. Thank you again.

I received my first GOP nomination for Supervisor one of my daughter's birthday, May 22, 1999. And now I receive my 3rd nomination on my own 52nd birthday.

The Republican nomination went to me, and also fellow Republicans Bruce Tulloch, Mick Staton and Jim Clem uncontested.

>>>> FUNDRAISING REPORT.

Thank you to those of you who gave generously when I called you and wrote you in the last days of December. Many thousands of dollars was added to the bank balance in the final days. When the papers are filed, we will maintain our number one status as a top Supervisor candidate treasury. Another big win in recent days.

>>>MISSING PURCELLVILLE TEEN LOCATED SAFE AND SOUND

A missing Purcellville teen was located last week and has been returned to her family.

Sarah Jane Willard-Walker was returned home to her family on Friday. She had left her home located inside the Town of Purcellville on December 17th. The Sheriff's Office issued an alert to the community as there were concerns for her well being and safety.

>>> ANOTHER TEEN MISSING SINCE DECEMBER LOCATED
Charles "C.J." Michael Robinson was located Thursday evening and is safe and sound.

>>> STERLING LOSING "WORST" INTERSECTIONS
Sheriff's Office Announces 2006's Most Crash Prone Intersections
http://inetdocs.loudoun.gov/sheriff/docs/newsreleases_/011007loudounsh/office2k/office2k.htm

The intersection of Harry Byrd Highway (Route 7) at Belmont Ridge Road in Ashburn tops the list of the most crash prone intersections in Loudoun County for 2006.

Every year the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Traffic Research Analyst compiles the top ten intersections in the county with the highest number of crashes.

Accidents still occur on the major intersections in the Sterling area but the number is dropping. The 606 Interchange has accidents dropping.

>>>DOWN.....DOWN.....DOWN.

The intersections of Route 28 and Old Ox Road and the intersection of Route 28 and Sterling Boulevard remain in the top 10. Route 28 and Old Ox Road rose slightly from 46 crashes in 2005 to 60 this year. This is a significant drop off from 2004 when there were 79 crashes in this area. Route 28 and Sterling Boulevard dropped to 55 crashes in 2006, down from 67 crashes in 2005. Both of these areas have added flyovers to help alleviate traffic conditions at these intersections.

>>> OVERALL TREND DOWN, 6, 5, 4, 3?..........

Historically as late as 2004 there were SIX Sterling area intersections in the top ten worst with 376 accidents total. In 2005 there were FIVE intersections in the top ten worst with 298 accidents and now in 2006 there are FOUR Sterling area intersections in the top ten worst with 235 accidents. The improvements resulted in lesser accidents.

>>> LIBERAL TRAFFIC MEDDLERS ARE YOU LISTENING?

Ironically, one of the worst intersections in the county was the Cedar Green intersection and it is only "right in" and "right out" now. In 2004 it had 42 accidents and is now off the top ten "worst" completely. I did not put that in my many published letters on the topic recently due to the limit on words.

>>>>CHURCH ROAD NO LONG ON TOP TEN
Sully Rd./Church Rd./Waxpool Rd. There were 73 accidents in 2005. It is now completely out of the top ten. This is your official public notice. Don't look for anything in the mail or Governor Tim Kaine, Delegate Poisson, or Senator Herring or the Washington Post to write about it or remark about how it is wonderful.
