They are completely surrounded by mud and a narrow path brings you right in the middle of it all. A sense of accomplishment rises as each new component is assembled. Be prepared for great hot food AND excitement as each team urges on another team.

A brave band of hundreds struggles through the rain under tents in islands of dry work areas and in rain gear. How can you resist being part of the Sully Elementary School building of their Science parK?

This is not just that neighborhood. It is Sterling's and Loudoun's destiny. It must be finished by Sunday with volunteers. There is no paid staff. You are their only hope.

Individuals, Companies and firms are encouraged to be involved from all over Loudoun. You know you should be there if you have not gone already.

Sully Elementary School is located next to the LCSA water tower on Holly Avenue off of Sterling Blvd. See you there.

Some say we should "pay" people to do this project.

Some say this should be paid with taxpayer funds.

Some are just too busy to think about it.

Let's get busy and finish it.

>>>>>Public Input Sought on Sheriff's Substation at Rolling Ridge Elementary School in Sterling

A public input session on proposed construction of a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office substation next to Rolling Ridge Elementary School will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at 6:30 p.m., at the school, which is located at 500 East Frederick Drive in Sterling.

The Board of Supervisors, School Board and Sheriff Stephen O. Simpson will host the session to discuss the proposal to build the facility on a parcel adjacent to Rolling Ridge Elementary School and to solicit community input regarding this project.

The proposed substation is envisioned to be an 18,000-square-foot facility that will provide patrol, crime prevention, and other law enforcement services to the Sterling area. The facility will house staff offices, a community room, deputy work rooms and temporary prisoner- holding facilities. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week under the command of a Sheriff's Captain.

The planned substation is expected to provide substantial public safety services to the community, reduce travel time to the Sheriff's Office Headquarters in Leesburg and expand the Sheriff's Community Policing Program. Incorporating a community meeting room would also provide a venue for community meetings easily accessible from Sterling Boulevard.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office staff will present a concept design for the project and invite community input at the November 1 meeting. Persons interested in speaking may sign up the evening of the input session or in advance by contacting Dave Franklin, Sheriff's Office planner, at 571-258-3075.
