Hit And Run Last Night

February 6, 2006

I just got this.

The Sheriff's Office is searching for a vehicle that struck a pedestrian
Sunday night and fled the scene.

The 29-year-old victim from Sterling was crossing Palisades Parkway at
the intersection of Cascades Parkway around 6:55 PM when he was struck
by a vehicle. The vehicle is possibly a sedan that is red in color. The
vehicle may have minor front end damage as a result of the incident.
Members of the Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit are working
with witnesses to develop further information about the suspect
vehicle.

As of midnight on Monday the victim was listed in Critical Condition at
Inova Fairfax Hospital. The victim was airlifted from the scene of the
hit and run and taken to the hospital due to the severity of his
injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the hit and run and who has not already
talked to investigators is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at
703-777-1021. If the caller would like to remain anonymous they are
asked to call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the caller's
information leads to an arrest and indictment the caller could be
eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
