2 PM Update: Sterling Shooting Victim passes away from injuries

Shooting/Homicide: Loudoun Sheriff's Deputies
responded to the area of E. Cornell Drive and N. Duke
Drive in Sterling for the report of multiple gunshots
fired.

Witnesses reported that two to three possible
suspects fled the area on foot following the shooting.

The victim, a 17-year-old male, was taken to an area
hospital this morning where he passed away due to his
injuries.

Loudoun Sheriff's Office personnel,
detectives and the Virginia State Police are on scene at
this time. Schools in the area of the incident were
placed on lockdown.
