GEORGE BARTON PASSES FROM THE EARTH

Former board chairman George Barton who taught at Park View HS since 2002
has passed away. He taught HONEST journalism to Sterling students every day
for the past ten years. Barton, as board chairman in 1991 introduced Loudoun
to Republican majority rule for the first time in recorded history.

Services are at the Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, today Wednesday,
from 5 to 7 p.m. with a church service Thursday Nov. 29 at 2 p.m.
at Harmony United Methodist Church, Hamilton

Bill Bolling Suspends Campaign for Governor Today (Statement)

I have been supporting Ken Cuccinelli and note that by any standard,
Mr. Cuccinelli has been working hard to win the GOP nomination for Governor

Mr. Bolling is to be commended for his decision.

Bolling said in part

The (nomination battle)would have forced Republican activists to take sides against their friends in local committees all across our state. The wounds that can develop from that type of process are often difficult to heal. (and)

I am unwilling to be part of a process that could seriously damage our image and appeal......"
