Park View HS Football Team Tackles Sterling Boulevard Pick Up
February 5, 2012
(Sports and God?)I believe in Miracles. I know most of you
also are believers.
Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos showed us this and of course
today the Giants Vs. Patriots Super Bowl is being prayed about too.
This Sunday morning, hats off to all involved in youth sports.
Thousands of Sterling Americans got to see what they accomplish and
how it affects Sterling and our Loudoun community. I will post
other reports from any other teams here too.
Park View HS Football Team Tackles Pick Up
You never know who shows up for the Sterling Foundation's
Sterling Boulevard clean up. Sometimes six people. Sometimes a
dozen people and some Sterling Middle School students.
The Park View High School football team turned Saturday
February 4 at 8:45 a.m. and made Sterling a better place.
Together with their dedicated coaches, the army of team
members donned their team jerseys and tackled the Sterling
Boulevard clean up in a magnificiant fashion. We usually can not
cover everything but when they were done, over 50 orange bags were
collected.
During the tremendous event, cars were honking their horns for
miles and cheers were frequently made by occupants in their cars
driving by as they saw this "Clean Up" Football Team. Some cars
parked on the side to have children watch.
The team members almost 50 members stormed the 4 miles of
Sterling Boulevard for hours. Besides the 50 organge bags filled
to the brim, they picked up loads of large objects blown from
trucks or other places and piled them on the street.
It was a little cold, but the team's spirit warmed Sterling.
They will practice until late August for their first game but
yesterday Sterling was a better place and everyone who saw this
took note of their dedication to our community and we thank their
parents, the team members and the coaches and school for hosting
this team.
Please let me know how the other sports teams are doing.
Thanks.
