Sterling Park Salutes Ed Brocke, RIP

November 5, 2010

Sterling Park's Ed Brocke, RIP

If Sterling had a John Wayne-like hero in real life there could be no mistaking this one man. Ed Brocke would not allow such recognition of him as he was humble.

He appreciated results and expected results. And he worked for it day and night by his devotion to his family, neighbors and community. His signature appears on more than one of the founding documents of youth groups or sports organizations in Sterling. His family was born in one of the first group of houses on Church road that began our community.

There are many in Sterling who devote their lives to their families and to the betterment of our community. Ed Brocke was the first of many who hold this community together-- today and as always. Sterling has enjoyed a re-birth in recent days and our future is as bright as ever. Ed Brocke and the Brocke family worked for it. All of us must take a moment to pray for him and the family.

In Lieu of flowers please donate to the Lower Loudoun Boys Football League (details to be forthcoming)

Fimian- Connolly Toss up-- Nobody Knows.

From the Fimian for Congress campaign: "The unofficial election night returns showed a razor-thin difference of about 400 votes between the candidates out of over 220,000 cast. Today we have been working through the post-election canvass process in which local elections officials scrub and double-check the unofficial election night totals, review provisional ballots, and send their results to Richmond for certification by state officials later this month.

At this minute, we still do not know what those results will be". They are asking for contributions to their legal count fund. According to the law if a recount is done it is separate from the campaign. Send donations to Keith Fimian for Congress PO Box 3131, Oakton, Virginia 22124.

LINK was ready to host another 650 families for 2010 but the community need was greater this year! Schools began to call in asking if more people could be added because they had so many families needing assistance this year. When the list was compiled, we would need 775 spots in order to accommodate the number requesting help.
