>>>>OUT OF CONTROL SPENDING.

The budget as proposed is the biggest tax hike ever planned by a local government in Northern Virginia.

Hundreds are writing and stating outrage that Supervisors and School board members are comtemplating massive tax rate hikes and massive increases in spending.

Yesterday, during the meeting of the Finance Committee, liberal Supervisors mocked my request to consider eliminating the multi-million dollar taxpayer bailout of rich mega-billion dollar for-profit corporations like Orbital Sciences, Howard Hughes Institute, and thousands of new car buyers (*** more at bottom).

While you are paying a big tax hike, the board is allowing these big companies TO PAY A PENNY instead of a standard $2.75

MEGA BILLION DOLLAR ORBTIAL SCIENCES AND OTHERS, average top ceos get $500,000 per year.

MEGA BILLION DOLLAR HOWARD HUGHES INSTITUTE, average top ceos get $700,000 per year.

MEGA BILLION DOLLAR WIRELESS BROADBAND, like they need a bailout?

MEGA RICH BUYING BRAND NEW HYBRID CARS, 2,000 rich people getting $3 million in new cars TAX FREE.

Rich Parents with children getting $millions in free lunches daily

Hip Hop Instead of Traditional English at Park View High School.

And liberal Supervisors and liberal free spending staff mock me FOR ASKING HOW MUCH THIS ADDS UP TO!

Every day there is some new outrage. Last night I learned the animal shelter spent $200,000 dollars to build a temporary horse barn for 45 "saved" horses. Instead of asking dozens of landowners with empty barns nearby the government went and spent 200,000 dollars for horses out of "slush fund". I thanked the dedicated staff for saving the endangered horses, but condemned the wild spending. Is there anyone who ever SAYS NO?

>>>>BUDGET HEARING, you get 3 minutes of public comment, Wednesday, February 27 at 3:30 p.m. and again 6:30 p.m. at the Board room in Leesburg. Remember there are some new supervisors and the entire Leesburg establishment is telling the supervisors that they have no choice but to raise taxes and increase spending on an astronomical scale.

You can write [email protected] and reach all nine supervisors.

Some supervisors will thank you for writing. I need five votes to lower the tax rate and stop the spending. I need five "no" votes to the tax increases. Ask supervisors to vote no to a tax increase.  I will vote "no".

>>>>CONVENTION DEADLINES LOOM

Republicans choose a U.S. Senate nominee at the state convention on May 31st in Richmond, Virgina in the Greater Richmond Convention Center. We will choose our next Republican Party of Virginia chairman and our US Senate nominee to replace John Warner. As Republicans, we are privileged to have two proven and effective veteran leaders vying for our nomination. I'm pleased to be supporting my friend and fellow conservative legislator, Bob Marshall. To sign up to be a convention delegate for Bob, you'll need to file a simple form and be elected as a delegate. (outside of Loudoun,to find out about your county, click here http://bobmarshall2008.com/convention.html.

Remember, in Sterling 85 per cent of all delegates to a local county convention voted for my re-nomination. Well, these are similar "district" conventions and "state" conventions.

>>> ****MORE ON ORBITAL SCIENCES AND SIMILAR MEGA TAXPAYER RIP OFFS

Last week, I am released a copy of Commissioner of Revenue Robert Wertz's January 16 letter explaining actual Orbital costs to Loudoun taxpayers and my letter to Commissioner Robert Wertz that asks a corrected fiscal impact to the county be issued as a result of county actions to obtain action in Richmond to extend the Orbital tax credits for another ten year period.

The Board of Supervisors voted 8 yes, Delgaudio no, at a previous meeting to ask the Loudoun delegation and the state legislature as part of Loudoun County's legislative agenda to extend the ten year tax credit period for Orbital by another ten years.

I have questioned the cost at the initial legislative discussion when the board voted 8 yes, 1 no to ask for this new ten year extension. I stated at the time "Press reports show the taxes lost to Loudoun county to be in the millions of dollars". Staff responded that it was just "public relations" and that the actual cost has been about $100,000 a year.

The January 16 Wertz letter to the board responds to the requests of myself and other supervisors and reveals the amount Orbital receives seems to far exceed the publicly announced amount.

The memo from Bob Wertz states flatly that the amount far exceeds the $100,000 and appears to be many millions of dollars. Wertz's memo includes attachments, charts outlining tax credits considered in 1998 and recent news articles.

There needs to be a more discussion at the board level and I look foreward to the answers to my question (of)Orbital's tax subsidies (totaling how many millions)? ......Unquote. Board members refuse to discuss this during the budget!

Subsequent to these rounds of letters and comments, I wrote county staff to ask about the entire reduced tax rate or total taxpayer subsidies in the form of tax credits to all for-profit corporations like Orbital, Broad Band and Wireless, Howard Hughes Institute and new hybrid car buyers and asked staff to put totals on the amounts given to these multi-billion dollar entities by local taxpayers.
