Not Since 1946?

PATRICIA SHOCKEY WRITES FOR HELP ON LEAGUE

Several weeks ago, Republican Patricia Shockey wrote me and said (quote)
"The President of the United States needs you, and the Congress and the
Loudoun Board of Supervisors need you, too. I believe that all
Republicans have a moral obligation to help our President and our elected
Republican officials......." (unquote). I sent that on to you.

The latest edition of the Loudoun Easterner newspaper, and other papers,
are reporting on this event being promoted by Patricia Shockey. The
Easterner says "not since 1946 has there been a challenge like this to the
League of Women Voters" (sic).

The Democratic Party of Loudoun County is condemning Patricia Shockey and
her family and friends for attempting to balance the unquestioned control
that the Dems have had over the League over the years. As usual, the
Democratic Party is attacking me and my wife Sheila.

Tonight, Republican Patricia Shockey has written me again and to be fair to
her, I will include her plea for help here:

PATRICIA SHOCKEY SAYS

(quote) " I wanted you to be aware that we really need you to be a member
of the League of Women Voters. We need a 'A FEW GOOD WOMEN AND MEN' to
join to help elect our slate "GET OUT THE VOTE" candidates: Dale Myers,
Patricia Shockey, Margie Wallo, Sally Miller and Cynthia McAlister.

We are running against (former liberal Supervisor) ELEANOR TOWE and others.
If you can, please meet me AT THE IDA LEE PARK RECREATION CENTER BY 1:15 to
be registered to vote. The IDA LEE PARK REC CENTER is at 60 Ida Lee Park in
Leesburg, in the basement of the main building.

I will have an APPLICATION for you (just mention Supervisor Delgaudio wrote
me), you can fill it out and bring it WITH YOUR CHECK in the amount of $48
for single person and $72 for husband and wife, TO THE MEETING THIS
SATUDAY, JUNE 26 at 1:15 pm at IDA LEE PARK. The room we have reserved is
located in the basement of the main building.

The President of the United States needs you, and Congress and the Loudoun
Board of Supervisors need you, too. I believe that all Republicans have a
moral obligation to help our President and our elected Republican
officials. So called non-partisan groups need Real Republicans in their
membership and as their LEADERS, in order for there to be fair elections in
Loudoun County, and in our Country.

This entire Presidential election most likely will hang on a few votes and
even our Congressman is threatened with defeat. We must not allow a local
group to attack our elected Republican officials publicly and pass
themselves off as "non-partisan". Let us make this group 'non-partisan'
with our participation. I ask you to join the Leaque of Women Voters of
Loudoun County, by signing the membership form at the end of this
letter. Joining a "non-partisan" group to keep it "non-partisan" is a
civic duty. Take this opportunity to restore balance to the League of
Women Voters.

If you do nothing, you will be allowing this League of Women Voters "to
confuse voters and to continue to attack" the newly elected Republican
Board of Supervisor members. The next meeting of the League of Women Voters
is scheduled this Saturday, JUNE 26, 2004 at the IDA LEE PARK REC CENTER
from 1:15 PM . Please plan on attending as elections will be held for the
Officers of the League. YOU MUST JOIN IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO VOTE ON JUNE

DELGAUDIO HAS AGREED

I have agreed to apply for membership with the League. Along with my wife
Sheila, I will be there. The Democratic Party has asked their membership to
turn out to oppose me and my wife and our involvement. This will be quite
an interesting gathering as both Democratic and Republican Parties arrive
together and attempt to forge a non-partisan League.

Most people are busy with going to the beach, or are on vacation. If you
are so inclined join me for a few hours begining 1:15 p.m. Saturday. Let me
