Honor Roll Letters Next Week

June 2, 2007

It was great seeing many of you at the Memorial Day ceremonies. I will always remember that at the exact moment the Boy Scouts of America placed the memorial wreath, the assembled veterans who were members of the honor guard smartly raised their rifles and quickly fired their 21 gun salute to those who have served our country.

>>>DELGAUDIO SIGNS FLOOD STERLING

PLEASE be patient. The flood of orange Delgaudio signs will be coming to you soon. Right now major roads host 300 private homes on some major roads. This is the most homes and our 2 opponents have "zero". But they are tearing some down. And we will put new ones to replace them.

>>> DELEGATES ONLY

342 delegates filed for the Loudoun Republican Convention. 300 Delegates support me for re-election. If you are a delegate, you must go the Community Church to vote for my re-election as your Republican nominee. You can not miss it or vote by absentee ballot. You must go the Community Church to vote. Look for a packet from the Republican Party in the mail.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m.and closes at 10 a.m. You can not be registered and be able to vote for me if you get to the Community Church after 10 a.m. You may be asked to restate your Republican unity again. You will need your drivers licence.

Some procedures will be announced and rules passed. Speeches should start at 10:30 and last for an hour with voting to start at about 11:30 a.m. I will get more details as they become available.

Please remember there are angry liberals who are attending-- hoping that you do not attend. They plan on ousting me as Supervisor and putting in someone who will raise your taxes, disband the overcrowding ordinance, and vote to bulldoze Sterling to make way for high rise apartments. Don't let angry liberals push you around. Attend the Loudoun County convention if you are a Delegate. Vote for my re-election. This is your victory. You have earned it by becoming a delegate.

>>>Substation Meeting Monday Night
>>>> ROLLING RIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
>>>>> MONDAY JUNE 4 6:30 P.M.

Loudoun County Sheriff Steve Simpson and the Loudoun County Office of Capital Construction will host a public input session for the Eastern Sheriff's Substation Project. The session will be held June 4, 2007 at 6:30 PM the Rolling Ridge Elementary School. The input session will include a presentation and design sketches by the architectural firm Ballou, Justice, Upton.

The substation, to be located adjacent to Rolling Ridge Elementary School on East Frederick Drive, is envisioned to be an 18,000-square-foot facility that will provide patrol, crime prevention, and other law enforcement services to the Sterling area. The facility will house staff offices, a community room, deputy work rooms and temporary prisoner-holding facilities. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week under the command of a Sheriff's captain.

The planned substation is expected to provide substantial public safety services to the community, reduce travel time to the Sheriff's Office Headquarters in Leesburg and expand the Sheriff's Community Policing Program. Incorporating a community meeting room would also provide a venue for community meetings easily accessible from Sterling Boulevard.

The Eastern Loudoun Substation is one of four planned substations by Loudoun County Sheriff Steve Simpson. Simpson plans to open their side of Dulles South Public Safety Center in South Riding in the next few weeks. The new facility serves as a combined fire-rescue station and law enforcement substation. The Sheriff's Office also plans to open substations in Brambleton and Western Loudoun.

>>>>Tour of New Jail Saturday, June 2nd

Want to be able to help with the quality of life in Sterling? Go on the tour of the new jail. That's a real topic for serious conversation.

Sterling residents are invited to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening of the new Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on Saturday, June, 2, 2007 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Following the brief ceremony members of the Sheriff's Office Correction's staff will provide tours of the detention center to interested residents.

The new facility, located at 42035 Loudoun Center Plaza (Just off Sycolin Road), will have a capacity to hold 196 inmates.
Part of the facility has been approved for double-celling allowing the Loudoun ADC to facilitate 220 inmates when it opens in early summer. Plans are already in the works to expand the facility to house an additional 240 inmates. The phase II expansion is expected to be complete by 2011.

This is a great idea. It is not the same as the Claude Moore Community Center swimming pool tour or the community briefing on our new police station, but it is helpful.

>>>> FUNDRAISING REPORT.

Thank you to those of you who gave generously when I called you and wrote you for the Friday, April 13 fundraiser. Many thousands of dollars was added to the bank balance and this whole Republican nomination process opened up. We do maintain our number one status as a top Supervisor candidate treasury but monies have been SEVERELY drained to ward off two opponents coming from the liberal wing of the Democratic Party and their allies.
