300 Sterling Delegates

You heeded the call. You came out to register as a delegate.

Thank you to the hundreds of supporters who filled out Republican pledge forms be become delegates over the last few days. I filed 125 forms on Saturday, May 5. And at 5 p.m. today, the total was over 300 delegates supporting me for re-election filed from Sterling District which is comprised of five precincts.

All together Friends of Eugene Delgaudio turned in more than 200 this week alone.

My opponent barely filed a handful of forms along with a filing fee of 1000 dollars. That's the level of support of my opponent in the community.

This is a tribute to the hard work of many people who volunteered for me and a lot of support from the community.
Supporters of mine also are working for both Sheriff candidates and that helped also.

Sterling Park broke many records today.

Registrations for previous Republican conventions range from 25 to state conventions to 100 for the previous county convention in which there was a contest for chairman.

This is a record that beats all previous filing records for delegates from Sterling for any Republican convention on record.

It is also a Virginia record for number of delegates per thousand voters, at 30 delegates per thousand voters.

And it is the largest percentage of all delegates filed this week in the entire county. A little over 700 new delegates were filed countywide this week and 29 per cent-- almost a third-- came from one of the 8 districts with the smallest population.

My orange hat is off to the many good citizens who took on the challenge of securing delegate forms and I again thank each of you for a job that required a sacrifice of time and considerable effort with very little notice.
