Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio Thanks Voters For Election Victory

Drivers Honk Horns To Celebrate

(Sterling, Va.) Today, Thursday, November 6th, Supervisor elect Eugene Delgaudio stood at the corner of Church Road and Sterling Boulevard from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. thanking voters for supporting him with their votes in Tuesday's election.

And Delgaudio is going to do it again Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., November 7th.

During a light rain, Delgaudio shouted "Thank You" to hundreds of drivers who returned his waves with thumbs up or other shows of support. Holding an umbrella, Delgaudio walked amid 50 Thank you signs posted for the occasion in the median strip.

Delgaudio first did this in 1999 when he was first elected. It is a tradition now.

"I appreciate being thanked", said one voter. Another voter stopped his car and said: "You are working too hard" Other drivers honked their horns in celebration.

Today, Delgaudio will wave his thank you sign again today for voters in Sterling district from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 7th at Church Road and Sterling Boulevard. "I don't want to miss anyone," said Delgaudio.

In a statement Delgaudio said "I wish to express my appreciation to the voters of Sterling District for returning me to a 4 year term on the Loudoun board of Supervisors. I will fight for Sterling residents to preserve our neighborhood, fight density packing development, build roads, fight crime, and expose government waste."
