COFFEE AND BAGELS - YOU SHOULD COME

The coffee and bagel get togethers continue. They will continue every Saturday at 10 a.m. This Saturday, I will get there at 10:00 a.m.

If you have the ability to leave the house, please join me at Jimmy G's restaurant this Saturday, July 26th. Jimmy G's is located opposite the Burlington Coat Factory on Route 7 in Sterling.

If you just want to see me come by. I would prefer that you work in the heat or donate money. If you don't want to work or donate, you can pray. The best things in life are gifts from God and require just the will to do good and one short prayer from you could work wonders. (Here that fellow Board members?)

Five Charged with Malicious Wounding by Mob

A 17-year-old male from Sterling who was stabbed back in June is now facing charges of Malicious Wounding by a Mob along with four others.

In the days that followed the June 30th incident investigators determined the juvenile's claim that he had been assaulted and stabbed by a white male outside a residence on Saffron Court was not entirely accurate.

Investigators learned through the course of the investigation that an altercation prior to the assault on Saffron Court had occurred between two groups, including the 17-year-old, at the Stone House Community Pool on Fernbank Court in the Cascades area.

Charged in the case are two 17-year-olds, a 15-year-old, 20-year-old Marlon Tamayo of Herndon and 19-year-old Tony Un of Sterling.

The juveniles have all been released into the custody of their parents. Mr. Tamayo is currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without Bond. Mr. Un was released on a $2000 unsecured bond.

Ed Rezac Says Thank You

In a statement responding (quoted in part) to the unanimous Board resolution commending him for his work and award by NASA, Ed Rezac of Sterling said

"It occurs to me ........ today (regarding ) the resolution by the Loudoun Board of Supervisors that the real story here is founded in the opportunities only a Nation like ours can provide. I am reminded once more of the dedication and sacrifice of our brothers and sisters in the military and the civil services, and the efforts of our elected officials from the National to the Local levels, to protect these opportunities. And I am always and ever mindful of my friends and associates within the NASA family that have given themselves to History to keep the Dream alive."

Constituent Writes Message

A constituent wrote me "We believe that the so called "smart growth" plan must be overturned. It's criminal the way Sterling is being used, which is to benefit the minority who live in western Loudoun..."

Writer Says Smart Growth Is Plague

In a short but pithy Letter to the editor in the Post Loudoun Extra by Mary Jane Windle it is noted that the quaint portrayal of all the many challenges making it harder and harder to farm or sell milk in Loudoun, there is one malady left out.

Windle says " The so-called smart-growth group is a plague, just as are too much rain, not enough rain and low milk prices."
