HAPPY THANKSGIVING

November 24, 2005

Happy Thanksgiving Day to you and all Sterling Americans.

While you eat turkey, ham and host visitors and family, let us all thank
God for his many blessings.

Sterling has made a lot of progress thanks to you and the efforts you
have put forth over this past year.

The Boy Scouts of America collected a record amount of food from you and
others. Over 1,000 families recieved food last Saturday and were given
winter coats as a result of your donations. $1300 was raised for the
Sully "Discovery Park" with your help and the help of many vendors
including Chick Filet and Jerrys Steak and Pizza restaurants respectively.

When Shoppers Food Wharehouse closed briefly due to a gas leak, hundreds
of Sterling Americans cooperated with staff and kept their distance. I
appreciate the good attitude of the store in handing out many gift
certificates to everyone who was inconvenienced. The store opened later
in the day and is in full operation.

I have a lot more to report but that will be later (ramp openings,
budget surpluses, regulatory relief and traffic improvements).

>>> Pray for Jim Clarke
>>> Clarke Saved Christmas in Sterling

For many years, during my first term, the whole structure of the
Loudoun Liberal culture assembled frequently in full force. Jim Clarke,
accompanied and assisted always by his wife Eleanor, would ride hard
into Leesburg to bravely and selflessly inspire, lead, motivate and
mobilize a majority coalition to confront the strident property crooks
who pilfer without limit.

His singular and unique role was a towering and influential example for
all Sterling Americans and Loudoun and an example to the rest of the USA
as well.

Mr. Clarke is ill and is in need of our prayers.

>>>HOW DID HE SAVE CHRISTMAS?

I noticed some Shopping Malls are already welcoming Santa Claus for the
Christmas season.

Mr. Clarke did many things for Sterling and Loudoun but he also helped
turn around the county. When I saw the early plugs for Santa, I
remembered how one Summer, in 2002, a real "Santa Claus" came forward
and the entire nation heard about it. Mr. Clarke defended Sterling's
right to celebrate Christmas, let us all remember him in our prayers.

Without Mr. Clarke doing this for you and me, all of our Christmas
Lights would be illegal and forbidden by county ordinance. Jim Clark
Saved Christmas in Sterling in 2002.
