Sheriff to Conduct Joint Sobriety Checkpoint with Virginia State Police on July 15

Loudoun County, VA - The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will conduct a joint sobriety checkpoint with the Virginia State Police on Friday, July 15, 2016. The sobriety checkpoint will begin shortly after 10 p.m.

"The joint sobriety checkpoint is a reminder to residents to make the smart choice, don't drink and drive," said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman.

Members of the Loudoun Sheriff's Office Auxiliary Unit and volunteers from the Loudoun Chapter of MADD will assist with the checkpoint.

Sheriff Provides Update on Cardinal Glen Circle Suspicious Death Investigation

Loudoun County, VA- The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the July 1 death of a Sterling, Va. woman who was found inside her home.

Loudoun Sheriff's Detectives are working with the Office of the Medical Examiner and are awaiting further testing to determine the cause and manner of death. All cases of suspicious or unattended deaths are investigated as a homicide until proven otherwise.

The 24-year-old woman was found deceased by a family member shortly after 11:45 a.m. inside her renovated apartment, located inside the garage of the home in the 300 block of Cardinal Glen Circle. Her name is not being released at this time pending the outcome of the report from the Office of the Medical Examiner.
